Mana Potion: Cocktails for the Azerothian Connoisseur

Matty tried to put a quarter in its slot to make it go. Bad idea.

Well, you all know I do not recommend drinking and dungeon-ing, although that is perhaps not the best way to go. But it’s one of those misty, northwestern summer nights, Senor Sol has better places to shine, and hanging out leveling my new alt druid, Mookimook, a tiny cup of sake just seemed fitting.

That made me think: what would be some appropriate cocktails for the girl-or-guy-on the go while messing around in Azeroth?* Just a few:

Resto Shamans:
Power Shower Punch: 
3 ounces lime juice
4 ounces fresh lemon juice
5 ounces fresh tangerine or orange juice
2 ounces sugar syrup
10 ounces pineapple juice
5 ounces good-quality brandy (not that cheap sh*t you serve to your mother-in-law)
5 ounces creme de cassis
1 ounce Amaretto
One 750 ml bottle of well-chilled Champagne
*Mix all together EXCEPT Champagne, chill for about one hour, slowly add Champagne and serve.

Warriors:
Thunderclap: 1.5 ounces blended whiskey, 1 ounce gin, 1 ounce brandy: shake with ice cubes, strain into glass. Drink.

PvP’ers:
Twin Peaks: 1.5 ounces blended whiskey, 1/2 ounce Dubonnet Rouge, 1 tspn. Cointreau or triple sec, 1 lemon twist: In mixing glass half filled with ice cubes, coming all ingredients except lemon twist: shake, strain, pour, serve with lemon garnish.

Mages, Trolls, Troll Mages, and anyone who’s ever died in a Zul:
Rasta’s Revenge:
1 ounce gin/1/2 ounce dark rum/1/2 ounce ruby port/1/2 ounce orange juice/1/2 ounce lime juice/ 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar: In a shaker half filled with ice, combine all of the ingredients. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass.

*Of course, only if you are of legal drinking age in your country or province, don’t have any substance abuse issues, and don’t drink and drive. Or text. Or drunk dial. Or drunk text. Or drunk text and drive.
